The Situation
Our client had a prime directive to generate $9B in new services. The desired to have an idea generation tool to allow anyone in the firm to submit suggestions. Commercial off the shelf (COTS) products were evaluated and did not meet the unique needs of the client.
The Solution
The solution consisted of administrators defining an idea campaign. Each idea campaign would consist of idea spaces. This provides the framework to help develop ideas. Users can then identity, classify, map, and submit ideas. Users can like and comment on ideas. Campaign administrators can then groom and promote ideas.
The solution followed the principals as set out by Enterprise Architecture to include, but not limited to: Information security standards, user experience best practices, coding guidelines. The logical architecture consisted of a SharePoint based solution that utilizes a immersive (full-page) high-trust SharePoint hosted app (SHA) with JSON to access data via digital certificate. The SharePoint site topology was remotely provisioned with CSOM and the community Office Developer PnP.
The Benefits
Our client is not only able to capture and execute on thought leadership around new services, but doing so with rich participation statistics such as % of total participation, most active/commented or rated ideas.
